Malaucène (16km)

Malaucène (16km)

In Malaucène, a few medieval gates have been preserved, such as the Porte Soubeyran, that once functioned as gallows! After passing the gate, we arrive at the village centre, old but lively with its stalls and shops. Via the Grande Rue and Rue du Château you arrive at the semicircular row of houses that made the village a fortified place in the 14th century.

Malaucène, 20 min. from the holiday home, starting point of the Mont Ventoux climb!

Cycling enthusiasts who cycle for fun might do well to cycle up the Mont Ventoux from Malaucène as the steep climb comes after just 10 km. This climb would therefore be less difficult than from Bédoin and more beautiful...

You will encounter the numbered typical concrete posts (bornes) during the ascent. You can read the number of km before you reach the top (summary) and the gradient.

For those who prefer to take it easy, enjoy a massage in the Spa Ventoux Provence  :) You can also rent a bike and go for a bike ride. There are several bicycle rentals that are happy to inform you which cycling route you can take. You can also make it cozy and take your picnic along for the road!

Malaucène, souvenir shopping near the holiday home:

In Malaucène it is clear that cyclists are the main  source of income because everything is sold in function of cycling.
